Teaching American History : The Virginia Experiment

"The Virginia Experiment": Growing Seeds of Democracy in Four Hundred Years of American History has one overall goal: to improve student achievement by providing high-quality professional development to teachers of American history with a partnership of five public school divisions in central Virginia: Charlottesville City, Albemarle County, Madison County, Orange County, and Greene County. The central goal of the Virginia Experiment project is to provide the resources and training for our teachers to gain a much deeper understanding of the evolution of traditional democratic ideals by providing in-depth coverage of the scope and chronology of American history.
